THREE DAYS OF MAGNIFICENT GOLF AT MOSS VALE
Wednesday 29 January, 2020: After two thrilling days of golf from some of the world’s top women professional golfers, Manon de Roey (Belgium) took out the The Aoyuan International Moss Vale Pro-Am – but not before a nail-biting play-off against Adina Dottie (Phillipines).
After finishing 6 under par for a total of 140 (71, 69), de Roey holed a bunker shot on the second play-off hole to claim the tournament trophy and winner’s purse of $4,500. De Roey tied 4th in last year’s Moss Vale Pro-Am, and will represent Belgium at the Tokyo Olympics later in 2020.
A full field of golfers competed on both days, comprising 65 women professionals and 156 amateurs. The winning Pro-Am teams saw Stephanie Na (Aust), Alan Hollis, Brad Hollis and Matt Heyhorn take honours with an aggregate score of 91 on Day One, and Jessica Pickwick (Aust), Elizabeth Elmassian, Ken Hayward and Zeb Dubokovich-Lucic with a score of 94 on Day Two.
A fun, warm-up Shootout event on the evening of Monday 27 January, sponsored by Chateau Tanunda, set the scene for the skills on display throughout the Pro-Am. Elmay Viking (Cook Islands) won Nearest to Pin after landing 180cm from the hole, DeeDee Russell (Australia) claimed Longest Drive with a tremendous drive of 243 metres.
The Aoyuan International Moss Vale Pro-am is one of the official qualifying events for the ISPS Handa Vic Open and the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, the two richest events on ALPG tour.
